{ABOUT US}
“As someone who has heard hundreds of performers all throughout Chicago in the past few years…I have to say Jane is a performer that brings to her music a passion that is lacking from much of today’s music. ”
— Lead Engineer & Open Mic Hostess Uncommon Ground, Kat Fitzgerald
Jane and the Steadfast Acrobats is the newly formed urban folk/rock band built around the original songwriting and powerful live performances of singer-songwriter Jane Thatcher. Jane’s vocal stylings have often been compared to those of Natalie Merchant and the group sound lies somewhere between the classic rock of Fleetwood Mac and the raw energy of Janis Joplin. “Jane’s voice and lyrics are hauntingly beautiful…I highly recommend catching her live. She is brilliant!” says Michael Teach, the host of Chicago Acoustic Underground.
“Jane Thatcher is a whirling dervish of dreamy pop. Similar to Natalie
Merchant and Jewel, she delivers passionate folk rock with an urban
twang. Note her secret ingredient: firecracker-like spunk and
unabashed energy. Jane ignites crowds with her foot-stomping
rhythms that break away into heartfelt gentle lullabies that rock you.
Styles range from smart down-home alt-country ballads to indie-rock
treats. Her songs walk the tight rope between pain, honesty and passion. Building a growing catalog with her
band, each song is topped off with her chocolate-like voice that recalls Patty Loveless or The Cranberries.”
